Jessie Reyez is one of those artists who will be playing bigger and bigger venues each time she sets out on tour. Last time I caught her was on a small little festival stage with a moderately sized crowd. Fast forward, and she’s won a few Juno awards, and each one of those people that were in that small crowd have told ten of their friends what an incredible show this extremely powerful young woman puts on.
Foo Fighters have been on the “to-photograph Bucket List” for years, so when a last-minute assignment came my way from The Snipe News in Vancouver, I was more than happy, make that ecstatic, to take it.

I photographed Hey! Ocean recently at a corporate event, but that was a smaller event that didn’t allow the band to explore the stage fully, so I was excited to see them headlining on the main stage at Uptown Live 2018. They have such a tremendous energy, and put on an incredible show!
Over ten years ago, Ché was one of the first musicians I ever photographed portraits for. I was using my first digital camera and a broken lens, so a lot of the images were slightly out of focus, which I didn’t realize until later… Fast forward 10 years, and for some reason, I have never seen, let alone photographed Ché live, until today. Something always got in the way. Another show, wedding, an event to photograph, or just life got in the way (working graveyard comes to mind..)
All photo effects created in-camera
