Corporate Portraits: Natalie of When Shutters Click Gifts

I’ve known Natalie for almost a decade, and in all that time, I’ve come to recognize one of the defining points of her personality. The will to be successful. She’s gotten quite good at it, and is a definite role model of mine, even though she is still a number of years younger than I am… From her photography to crafts of all sorts, Natalie puts it all out there, and really throws her soul into her work. I am happy to know her, and was honored when she asked me to make some business portraits of her late this last fall.

Chin Injeti as King Midas: Two Grammy nominations for the VanCity producer with the golden touch

Vancouver’s own Chin Injeti will at least be clearing space for two new Grammy nomination medals over the Christmas season, anticipating February 10th’s Staple Center awards night. Having previously shared the much coveted Grammy for Eminem’s “Recovery”, Chin is again primed to take first prize for his work on Pink’s Billboard hit “Truth about Love” which is up for Best Pop Vocal album of the year, and Christian rap artist Lecrae and his latest album “Gravity”, which is set to take on the best Gospel album of the year category.

Magnus Rising – Magnus’ Uprising

Way back in late 2007, or perhaps early 2008, I had the fortune of meeting a group of Newfie musicians who had recently traded their far-reaches east coast home for a rainy west coast metropolis. I met Roger, Matt and Aaron at a show at the now defunct Club 340, which was well known for its grungy exterior that matched some of the music played there. The fact it’s now just a pseudo hipster joint is no huge loss, but shows a willingness to grow their brand, which Magnus Rising has also been doing in the last 5 years.

Big City of Dreams – New York in a minute.

I had the honour this past summer of being a part of a conspiracy to throw a surprise vacation for my photographer roommate Bryan Mollett as part of a TV show titled ‘Operation Vacation’ from a studio here in Vancouver. Everything went off without a hitch, and we sent Bryan off on the trip of a lifetime, with me in tow.
